Aquarium

I was commissioned by the City of Sacramento to create a series of Traffic Signal Art Boxes. Rather than create an image on an object, I wanted to the finished piece to be a an object. I liked the idea of juxtaposing a cool blue aquarium filled with jellies (one of my favorite sea creatures), against the dry hot stretch of surrounding roadway.

Medium: Digital Mixed Media, Photography, & Painting

Location: SW Corner of Meadowview Rd. and Tomoshanter Way - Sacramento, CA.

Aquarium 02

I was commissioned by the City of Sacramento to create a series of Traffic Signal Art Boxes. This is a variation of the first aquarium project. Rather than create an image on an object, I wanted to the finished piece to be a an object. I liked the idea of juxtaposing a cool blue aquarium filled with a tentacled creature, against the dry hot stretch of surrounding roadway.

Medium: Digital Mixed Media, Photography, & Painting

Location: Planned location was NE Corner of Meadowview Rd. and 24th Ave. - Sacramento, CA.

The Times

I was commissioned by the City of Sacramento to create a series of Traffic Signal Art Boxes. Rather than create an image on an object, I wanted to the finished piece to be a an object. I constructed an over-sized vintage 1980's walkman-style cassette music player. The cassette inside reads "The Times They Are A Changin" from the Bob Dylan album of the same name. The main panel will be viewable from the one-way traffic on 12th street as people enter downtown. It's a commentary on the rapidly changing landscape of downtown, and how what was once new and hi-tech is quickly giving way to the newer.

Medium: Analog sculpture, Digital Mixed Media, Photography, & Painting

Location: SW Corner of G St. and 12th St. - Sacramento, CA.

Tiny Together

I was commissioned by the City of Sacramento to create a series of Traffic Signal Art Boxes. I constructed a miniature park-like center and photographed the tiny people in community-positive activities with a high powered macro lens and accented the photographs with splashes of color along the boarder.

Medium: Analog sculpture, Digital Mixed Media, Photography, & Painting

Location: NE Corner of Meadowview & 24th St., Sacramento, CA.
